From Cups to Concrete: Embracing the Raw Beauty
9/24/2020

Good morning, dear ones! As my eldest and only used to say, "Mom, mom, wake up, we have a new day. The sun is shining, wake up, wake up." And so it went for a few years. Now, it's the other way around! 🤣
With a new day, I wrap up what I started, but I'm also beginning something new. The idea is already brewing, and paints will once again take center stage. Okay, let's get back to the old – or rather, the very old.
I had one more porcelain cup and craved another wall planter. Completed, hung, and filled with new life.
Porcelain cup, embedded in concrete, suspended on a twine made of jute.
Oh, how I love this rawness! Recently, my very understanding partner said to me:
"Darling, if you can, avoid hammering in nails; just use small tacks. We're starting to have more holes than walls."
"Alright, love."
I hold my dear creation in my hands, thinking, contemplating, and the image becomes clearer – a picture of bars closing, and I have to serve a good few years for the crime of potting! 😂
What did I do? I searched for one of the larger hooks we have at home, one that could still be hammered in without a drill. Without much thought, I hammered, hung it up, and now I sit, gaze, and revel in the sight of freedom. 😁
